Submission Guidelines for the Journal of Comparative Constitutional Jurisprudence


Ethics Policy
The editorial team upholds a stringent ethics policy to ensure the integrity of the editorial process. The Journal of Comparative Constitutional Jurisprudence (JCCJ) is committed to transparency, diversity in its editorial board, and eliminating unconscious bias. Editors evaluate all submissions objectively while maintaining the anonymity of both the author and reviewers throughout the review process.


Exclusive Submission Policy
The journal accepts only exclusive submissions. Manuscripts under consideration by another journal or publication will be automatically rejected. Any breach of this policy will result in immediate rejection.


Copyright Policy and Fair Use

The author retains all moral rights and will receive due credit for their publication.
The author may republish the work elsewhere, provided proper attribution is given to the Journal of Comparative Constitutional Jurisprudence as the first publisher.
The Journal retains all copyrights related to the publication, along with non-exclusive rights to edit, publish, reproduce, distribute, and translate the published work in any media format.


Open Access Statement

The Journal of Comparative Constitutional Jurisprudence follows an Open Access Policy. All published works will be freely accessible online without any subscription fees or time restrictions.


Final Discretion of the Editorial Board

The Editorial Board has the final authority over the acceptance, rejection, and necessary modifications of submissions. Compliance with editorial decisions is expected from all contributors.


Withdrawal Policy

Authors may withdraw their submissions within 14 days of submission.
After the 14-day period, a valid reason must be provided for withdrawal. Failure to do so may result in temporary blacklisting of the author.


Review Process

The review process may take one to two months per manuscript.
The Journal will strive to maintain communication with the corresponding author but cannot guarantee immediate individualized responses at all times.
If revisions are required, the Editorial Board will communicate them via email.
The decision regarding acceptance or rejection of manuscripts rests exclusively with the Board.
Authors are expected to adhere to suggested revisions and cooperate with the Editorial Board for any minor editorial changes.
The Board’s discretion is final on all matters.


Style Guide

The Journal of Comparative Constitutional Jurisprudence accepts submissions in the following categories:

  • Long Articles: 4,000 to 8,000 words (excluding footnotes)

Must provide a detailed study of a constitutional law theme with analytical insights.
Empirical and interdisciplinary research is encouraged.
Purely theoretical discussions are also welcome.

  • Short Articles: 3,000 to 4,000 words (excluding footnotes)

Must address contemporary constitutional issues.
Should be precise, engaging, and focused on a specific topic.

  • Case Comments / Legislative Briefs: 2,000 to 3,000 words (excluding footnotes)

Case comments should critically analyze judicial decisions and their impact on constitutional law.
Legislative briefs should evaluate recent or pending legislation in constitutional jurisprudence.

  • Book Reviews: 1,000 to 2,000 words (excluding footnotes)

Must review books relevant to constitutional law and jurisprudence.
Formatting Requirements


Main Text: Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.5 line spacing, 1-inch margins, justified alignment.
Footnotes: Must follow the OSCOLA (4th edn.) citation style. Speaking footnotes are discouraged.
Abstract: Each submission must include an abstract of no more than 250 words, along with 4-5 keywords related to the theme.


Submission Guidelines

It is an annual Journal started in March 2025; the journal accepts submission only in English.

Submissions must be made in MS Word (.doc/.docx) format via the submission form on the Journal’s website.
Manuscripts must be original and unpublished and must not be under consideration elsewhere.
Co-authorship is permitted, with a maximum of two authors per submission.
The cover letter must include:

  • Submission category
  • Title of the manuscript
  • Full name of the author(s)
  • Position/Year of study
  • Institutional affiliation
  • Contact details

The body of the manuscript must not contain any personal details of the author(s) to maintain anonymity.
The Journal adheres to a zero-tolerance plagiarism policy, complying with UGC (Promotion of Academic Integrity and Prevention of Plagiarism in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2018. Non-compliance will lead to immediate rejection.


Editorial & Peer-Review Process
Authors will receive an acknowledgment of submission within 3 days.
All manuscripts undergo peer review, taking approximately 4-5 weeks after acknowledgment.
The final selection depends on peer review feedback, and authors are expected to incorporate the suggested revisions before publication.

By submitting to the Journal of Comparative Constitutional Jurisprudence, authors agree to comply with the aforementioned policies and guidelines.
